Jason Mack's Resume


Jason Mack holds a BS from Illinois State University where he studied sculpture and art history. He has been working with glass since 2000. In the summers of 2003 and 2004 he studied abroad in Italy to better understand the language and Venetian glass traditions. In 2007, after graduating from ISU, Jason opened his studio in a large 19th century warehouse in Bloomington, IL where he developed various ways to create large glass and steel installations on-site with a mobile glass furnace. His installations have been displayed in downtown areas around the Midwest from Grand Rapids, MI, Chicago, IL to Iowa City, IA. Jason currently lives and works in Champaign, IL.

In addition to his sculptural work he has developed a line of architectural lighting systems for 100watt Network using post-consumer glass.

One of his larger glass installations can be viewed in the permanent collection at Heartland Community College. The work, titled, "Illinois Wheat Field", is located in the Student Commons Building.
